Fast Idle Solenoid

The fast idle solenoid is used on Fuego and Sportwagon with 4-132 engine and is attached to the idle bypass unit body. When the engine is started, or the A/C compressor is operating, the fast idle solenoid is energized. The length of time the fast idle solenoid is energized is determined by two timer relays. After an engine start condition, the start-up timer relay will maintain the energized condition for three seconds. When the A/C compressor is operating, the A/C timer relay maintains the fast idle solenoid in the energized position for as long as the compressor operates.
