Fuel Pressure: Testing and Inspection

1. Connect pressure gauge to hose between pressure regulator and injector ramp assembly.
2. Disconnect vacuum hose on top of pressure regulator and connect vacuum pump to pressure regulator.
3. Start engine, then note pressure reading on gauge. On Alliance and Encore models, pressure should be 33 to 39 psi. On Fuego and Sportwagon models, pressure should be 40 to 46 psi.
4. Apply approximately 16 in. Hg of vacuum to pressure regulator.
5. Fuel pressure should be approximately 7 psi less than that previously noted.
