Ignition Switch: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove steering column upper and lower housing covers.
3. Disconnect wire connector from switch.
4. Turn key to position between ACC and ON and remove key.
5. Remove attaching screw (A), Fig. 1, then, using suitable tool, push in retaining pin (B) and remove switch by pushing from rear. Retaining pin is located on upper side on 1984-85 models and on lower side on 1986-87 models.
6. Reverse procedure to install.
