Starter Motor: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then raise and support vehicle.
2. Remove right driveshaft, then disconnect exhaust pipe from manifold.
3. Remove 3 starter mounting bolts, starter bracket at brush end of motor and the starter, noting installation position of locating dowel.
4. Reverse procedure to install, ensuring that locating dowel is centered in hole of appropriate mounting bolt. The three mounting bolts must be tightened before tightening bracket.
