A/T - Vehicle Speed Sensor Check

Vehicle Speed Sensor Check:

If you suspect a bad VSS, it can be checked with an ohm meter.




First, cut the leads (See figure 1) and remove the insulation. Connect the ohm meter to the red and white wires (See figure 2).

An ohms resistance reading of less than 50, and more than 100, would indicate a defective sensor.

The replacement VSS is Renault part # T1201830.
