Air Temperature Sensor ( Ambient / Intake ): Testing and Inspection


1. Disconnect wire harness connector from MAT sensor.
2. Using a suitable high input impedance digital volt-ohmmeter, measure sensor resistance.
3. Resistance should be between 300 ohms and 300k ohms (10k ohms at room temperature).
4. If resistance of MAT sensor is not within specifications, replace.
5. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between ECU connector terminal J2-11 and the sensor connector terminal, then between ECU connector terminal J2-13 and sensor connector terminal.
6. If resistance is greater than one ohm, repair wire harness as necessary.
