Throttle Full Close Switch: Description and Operation

A double throttle plate assembly, Fig. 4, with delayed throttle plate openings is located after the airflow meter and controls the amount of air admitted to the engine. A switch is attached to the throttle plate shaft with one contact for idling (1) and one for full throttle (2). The control contact closes the idling contact or full throttle contact depending on air throttle plate position. The control unit receives voltage output signals from the contact and uses the information to determine the length of injector time.
