FUEGO W/SOLID STATE IGNITION
The diagnostic connector, Fig. 6, may be used to perform the following vehicle checks: primary ignition circuit voltage, initial ignition timing advance setting, centrifugal and vacuum advance curves and engine RPM. To replace the diagnostic connector, proceed as follows:
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove diagnostic connector from support plate.
3. Disconnect diagnostic connector wiring harness from engine components.
4. Remove sensor retaining bolt, then remove sensor.
5. Remove diagnostic connector assembly and harness from vehicle. Sensor support plate may be removed by removing retaining bolts. Use caution not to bend support plate during removal. If TDC sensor only is to be removed, remove diagnostic connector from support, then remove sensor from retainer. Remove round terminals 1, 4 and 5 from connector using tool fabricated to dimensions shown in Fig. 7.
6. Reverse procedure to install. Check to ensure that TDC sensor is .02-.039 inch (.5-N mm) from flywheel. If a new sensor is installed, adjust so that 3 pegs contact flywheel.
