Distributor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect distributor primary wire from coil terminal (if equipped).
2. Remove distributor cap and rotor.
3. Remove vacuum line (if equipped) and hold-down clamp.
4. Note relative position of distributor in block, then remove from engine.

INSTALLATION
1. Reinstall distributor in same relative position as removed.
2. Turn the distributor shaft so tabs on the bottom of distributor shaft engage the offset slot in distributor drive.
3. Reinstall hold-down clamp, vacuum line (if equipped), rotor and cap.
4. Connect distributor primary wire to coil (if equipped).
5. Adjust ignition timing.
