When the engine load exceeds a predetermined value stored in the ECU, the ignition timing will be retarded 6° for all cylinders at the same time. The timing will advance again in 1° steps per engine revolution when the load has decreased or levelled off. See Fig. 81 for a chart of the actions performed.
