Background
Poor AM/FM reception can be caused by a defective car antenna and/or antenna cable.
If the antenna is in poor condition, it will reduce the radio's tolerance to interference and provide generally poor radio reception, especially on AM.
If the antenna cable is damaged. the FM reception may also be greatly impaired.
