Addressing Customer Complaint of "LOW OIL LEVEL" message on SID

Background

If you should have a customer complain that they receive a message stating "LOW OIL LEVEL" on their [1][2]Saab Information Display (SID), or it you are replacing SID, follow the instructions below. In the case of the customer complaint, it is not necessary to replace the SID.

Action

Program the SID as a new unit using ISAT or TECH 2:

ISAT

1 Select: Saab information Display.
Press Enter.

2 Select: Programming.
Press Enter.

3 Scroll through SID 2/3, to SID 4, Back to SID 2/3.
Press Enter Briefly*

4 Scroll through normal (sedan), hood (conv.), sensonic, and sensonic with hood. Select normal or hood depending on your vehicle.
Press Enter.

5 Select F1 to carry out programming.

*If you press ENTER for too long or too hard. ISAT will jump right through options and will show select F1 for programming. Make sure that you have actually selected normal or hood.

Note that when programming is completed, the U.S. figures will reset back to metric. Please be sure they are set to U.S. and English before the car is given back to the customer.

TECH 2

1 Select: Saab Information Display.
Press ENTER.

2 Select: SID 2, SID 3, SID 4 or OTHER.
Press ENTER.

3 Select: PROGRAMMING.
Press CHANGE/SCROLL to find desired setting SID 2/3 or SID 4.
Press OK.

4 Select EQUIPMENT DESIRED SETTING: ACS, TCS, ACS/TSAS, NORMAL.
Press OK.
Programming is complete.
