Control Module (Processor Card)

The main instrument display panel contains a control module (processor card) which is replaceable. If replaced, the control module must be reprogrammed for the car concerned.

The control module receives information from other systems via the main instrument display panel's inputs. The control module then processes this information and uses it to control certain instruments and lamps.

Pins 3 and 4 have what is called two-way serial communication.
Some of the processed information is available to other systems via pins 3 and 4.

Information needed by the main instrument display panel is also received via pins 3 and 4.
