Condition
Some customers may comment on a buzz, rattle or vibration noise from the left or right front door speaker when the radio is set on high volume.
Cause
The premium Bose(R) speaker produces more robust low frequencies, which may cause the front door trim panel reflector to rattle or vibrate.
Correction
Isolate the rattle by installing flocking tape to the back side of the front door trim panel using the steps below.
1. Verify that the rattle is coming from the front door trim reflector area.
2. Remove the front side door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement in SI.
3. Locate the two door trim reflector attaching tabs (1) on the back side of the door trim panel.
4. Cut a piece of Kent(R), KT13487, BRS Tape, or equivalent flocking tape, to 35 mm (1-3/8 in) width by 60 mm (2-9/16 in) length.
5. Install the flocking tape (1) over the two reflector tabs.
6. Install the front side door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement in SI.
7. Verify that the condition has been corrected.
