Detailed Description

Detailed Description

The car is equipped with two trumpet-type horns. One is located behind the grille under the radiator member. The other is located inside the bumper shell under the right-hand headlamp. The button for activating the horn is located in the center of the steering wheel.

The horn pitches have different frequencies. The horns have frequencies of 400 Hz and 500 Hz.

The horn switch (41) is connected to Column Integration Module (CIM) pin 6 K(8). When the horn switch is closed, CIM pin 6 K(8) is grounded. CIM (703) sends the message "Horn button active ON" on the I-bus. UEC (342) supplies voltage on pin 34 (F) to pin 1 of both horns via the horn relay (68).

UEC supplies voltage to the horn for a maximum of 3 minutes even if the horn button is pressed longer.
