Front Door Window Glass: Adjustments



Adjustment Of Windows And Door Mirror Base Seal, CV

The condition for optimum adjustment is that the boot lid, soft top cover and the soft top are correctly adjusted and that the sequence is followed as in the description below.

Checking the door window highest position

1. Raise the soft top fully.
2. Shut the windows.
3. The edge of the door window must run precisely and freely against the lip of the seal when the door is closed (A). The window must then lightly touch the lip of the seal if it correctly adjusted for height. When the door is closed the lip of the seal must close around the edge (B).





Adjustment of the door window, uppermost position

1. Open the window fully.
2. Remove the plastic cover and the rubber plug.





3. Turn the two adjustment screws.

Important: The two set screws must be turned the same amount in the same direction. Otherwise, the window can start to rise at the front or back after some time of use.





4. Fit the plastic cover and the rubber plug
5. Check that the door mirror base is correctly adjusted in relation to the door window.
6. Check the fit and operation of the window.
7. Cars with pinch protection: Perform Programming of the pinch protection.

Checking the position of the door window, forward/backward

1. Raise the soft top fully.
2. Shut the windows.
3. The front edge of the door window must run precisely and freely against the lip of the seal when the door is closed (A).

When the door is closed the lip of the seal must close around the edge (B).





Adjustment of the door window forwards / backwards

1. Open the window until about 10 cm of the window is visible.





2. Remove The door trim, CV and fold down the water barrier.
3. Before adjustment is started the door mirror base screws must be unscrewed.
4. Loosen the two retaining bolts. Adjust the window backwards or forwards.





5. Tighten the retaining bolts.
6. Adjust the door mirror base and tighten the screws. Check that the door mirror base is correctly adjusted in relation to the door window.
7. Fold back the water barrier and fit Door trim, CV.
8. Check the fit and operation of the window.
9. Cars with pinch protection: Perform Calibration of pinch protection

Checking the depth of the door window travel

1. When the door is closed the lip of the seal must close around the edge.





Adjustment of the door window inwards / outwards

1. When the door is closed the lip of the seal must close around the edge (B).
2. Remove Door trim, CV.
3. Unscrew the retaining bolt (A) and unscrew the adjustment screw (B) and adjust the window. The basic setting for the adjustment screw is so that half of the hole is visible.





4. Fit the door trim.
5. Test the window and check the fit. Also check that the door mirror base is correctly adjusted in relation to the door window.
6. Cars with pinch protection: Perform Programming of the pinch protection.

Checking the door mirror base seal

1. Shut the door window fully.
2. Shut the door.
3. Check the door mirror base seal against the edge of the A-pillar trim moulding. The gap should be parallel. The two seals should be in line with each other.





Adjusting door mirror base forwards / backwards, outwards/inwards

1. Remove the door mirror base cover.
2. Undo the 4 screws. Adjust the door mirror base seal so that an even line against the glass is obtained. Tighten the screws.





3. Following which, adjust the door mirror base seal outward/inward using the adjustment screw (A).
4. Test the window and check its fit and that the pinch protection is in order.
5. Fit the door mirror base cover.

Checking the side window.

1. Check the side window against the door window. The distance between the rear edge of the side window sealing moulding and the rear edge of the door window must be 23±1 mm. The distance should be the same all along the length.





2. The surface of the side window should exactly align with the surface of the door window. The upper edge of the side window should also align with the upper edge of the door window.

Adjustment of the side window forwards / backwards.

1. Shut the windows fully.
2. Remove Seat cushion, rear seat, CV, Backrest, rear seat, CV and Rear side trim, CV.
3. Remove the upper insulation and the rubber plug.
4. Shut the door.
5. Loosen the two upper nuts on the window lift mounting and the nut on the lower adjusting screw.





6. Adjust the side window by moving the complete window lift with window. Tighten the nuts.
7. Check once more the position of the side window relative to the door window.
8. Fit the rubber plug and the insulation.
9. Fit Rear side trim, backrest, and seat cushion.
10. Check the fit and operation of the window.
11. Cars with pinch protection: Perform Calibration of pinch protection

Adjustment of the side window inwards / outwards

1. Remove Seat cushion, rear seat, CV, Backrest, rear seat, CV and Rear side trim, CV.
2. Remove the rubber plug
3. Loosen the nut.





4. Adjust the side window by turning the adjusting screw. Tighten the adjusting screw nut.
5. Fit the rubber plug
6. Fit Rear side trim, backrest, and seat cushion.
7. Check the fit and operation of the window.
8. Cars with pinch protection: Perform Calibration of pinch protection

Adjustment of the side window, uppermost position

1. Remove Seat cushion, rear seat, CV, Backrest, rear seat, CV.
2. Remove Rear side trim, CV and fold down the water barrier.
3. Loosen the nut on the arm mounting.





4. Adjust the side window by moving the arm on the window lift mechanism. Tighten the nut.

NOTE: The marks on the arm are equivalent to a 1 mm vertical movement of the side window.

5. Fold back the water barrier and fit The rear side trim.
6. Check the fit and operation of the window.
7. Fit backrest, and seat cushion.
8. Cars with pinch protection: Perform Calibration of pinch protection
