B207 petrol engine: Direct drive from intake camshaft.





B284 petrol engine: Belt driven via multigroove belt.





Diesel engine: Driven via a poly-V belt.





Main task
The task of the pump is to provide power steering fluid to the power steering system at the correct flow and at the correct pressure.

Type

B207 petrol engine: The pump is integrated with the power steering fluid reservoir and contains a control valve for pressure and flow control and a pressure sensor in addition to the pump element.

B284 petrol engine: The pump and power steering fluid reservoir are separated. Besides a pump element, the pump also contains a control valve for governing the pressure and flow.

Diesel engine: The pump and the power steering fluid reservoir are separate. The pump contains a control valve for pressure and flow control in addition to the pump element.
