Purpose

The purpose of this bulletin is to inform Saturn retailers of changes to several bolt torque specifications for the 2004 VUE rear suspension.

Rear Upper Control Arm-to-Support Assembly Bolt Torque Specification

There are new specifications for the rear upper control arm-to-support assembly bolt torque, which depend on the size of fastener installed.

Please go to Step 5 of the "Rear Axle Upper Control Arm Replacement" procedure (page 3-63 in the Suspension section of the printed 2004 Saturn VUE Service Manual, Vol. 1, SI Document ID #1243653) and cross out the entire step. Make copies of the information shown and place it in the manual.
