1. Measure distance between front machined face of cylinder block and inboard edge of belt on flat side at specific locations given. Dimension from front face of cylinder block-to-edge of belt: Tolerance: 28-31 mm (1.102-1.220 inch).

NOTE: The right-hand tire and splash shield will require removal.

2. If the belt to cylinder block clearance does not fall within tolerance:
a. Make sure the belt is properly located in the pulley grooves.
b. Inspect accessory drive belt for edge wear and replace if necessary.
c. Inspect accessory drive pulleys for being bent or damaged.
d. Check accessory components for proper shaft and bearing end play. Make sure all pulley hubs are properly installed on their shafts.
3. Check pulley radial and axial runout at belt grooves with a dial indicator: Tolerance (Radial/Axial): 0.38 mm (0.015 inch) max.
