Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair

Throttle Position Sensor On Side Of Throttle Body:







REMOVAL
NOTE: The TP sensor is an electrical component, and must not be soaked in any liquid solvent; otherwise damage could result.

1. Remove Throttle body.
5. Remove TP sensor screws and assembly from throttle body.


INSTALLATION
1. Clean O-ring sealing surfaces and throttle body.
2. Install O-ring to Throttle Position (TP) sensor.
3. With Throttle Body closed, install Throttle Position (TP) sensor over throttle shaft. Install TP at a slight counter-clockwise angle to mounting holes. Rotate TP sensor clockwise to seat alignment pin and to align mounting holes.
4. Apply Loctite (R) 242 Threadlocker (P/N 21485277) or equivalent to the attaching screws threads.

Torque
Mounting screws to 2 NM (18 in. lbs).

5. Install Throttle Body to intake manifold.
