Transaxle Oil Cooler Line Seals

Tools Required
- J41239-2 Cooler Line Seal Removal Tool
- J41239-1 Cooler Line Seal Installer

REMOVAL





1. Place drain pan or suitable container under vehicle.
2. Remove transaxle oil cooler line assembly from transaxle only. Position oil cooler line away from cooler line seals on transaxle.





IMPORTANT: In order to remove top transaxle cooler seal, the front transaxle mount must be removed.

3. Wedge cooler line seal remover J41239-2 into transaxle cooler line seal on outside of case bore.
4. Remove transaxle oil cooler line seal by prying out of case. If necessary, strike seal remover with a hammer.


INSTALLATION





NOTICE: Failure to lubricate the cooler line seals with DEXRON(R) III (P/N 21019228) automatic transaxle fluid before installing the cooler line assembly into the seals may cause damage to the seals.

1. Place a new transaxle cooler line seal in the case bore.
2. Install the J41239-1 on the transaxle case at the cooler line bracket bolt hole.
3. Press new transaxle cooler line seal in by tightening the seal pressing bolt on the tool until the seal bottoms out in the case bore.





4. Install transaxle oil cooler line assembly to transaxle.
Torque: 8 Nm(71 inch lbs.)
5. Start engine and check for leaks.
6. Check for proper fluid level using the "Transaxle Fluid Level Checking Procedure".
