Removal and Installation

NOTICE: If SDM is dropped or shows any sign of damage, it must be replaced.

NOTICE: Prior to removing SDM, ignition key must be in the LOCK position.

REMOVAL
1. Disable the SIR system. (Refer to "Disabling SIR System" procedure.)






2. Remove console front screws.
3. Remove console rear screws.
4. Lift rear of console.
5. Remove Connector Position Assurance (CPA) retainer and disconnect wire harness.
6. Remove bolts and SDM.

INSTALLATION

NOTICE: The SDM bolts provide ground for the SIR system. DO NOT use Loctite(R) 242 threadlocker, or equivalent material, on the bolts because it will insulate the ground path.






1. Position SDM and install bolts.

Torque: 15 N.m (11 ft-lbs)

2. Connect wire harness.
3. Install console screws.

Torque: 1.2 N.m (11 in-lbs)

4. Enable the SIR system. (Refer to "Enabling SIR System" procedure.)
