Front Seat Back - Squeaks

Squeak Noise from Driver or Passenger Seat Back
(Install Seat Frame Insulator)

MODELS AFFECTED:
2000 and 2001 S-Series SC2, SL2, and SW2 Models up to and including VIN 1Z229725

CONDITION:
Some customers may comment about a squeak noise coming from the seat back on uplevel seats (both cloth and leather).

CAUSE:
Front seat back foam may rub against metal frame of seat back.

CORRECTION:
Use the following procedure to install seat frame insulator (P/N 21305329) over seat back frame.

PROCEDURE:

1. Remove seat back pad and seat cover.

^ For sedans and wagons, refer to "Sedan/Wagon Seat Back Pad and Seat Cover - SL2, SW2" removal procedure in the Seats section of the appropriate model year S-Series Body/Electrical (Volume II) service manual.

^ For coupes, refer to "Coupe Seat Back Pad and Seat Cover - SC2" removal procedure in the Seats section of the appropriate model year S-Series Body/Electrical (Volume II) service manual.





2. Install seat frame insulator (P/N 21305329) over seat back frame.

3. Install seat back pad and seat cover.

^ For sedans and wagons, refer to "Sedan/Wagon Seat Back Pad and Seat Cover - SL2, SW2" installation procedure in the Seats section of the appropriate model year S-Series Body/Electrical (Volume II) service manual.

^ For coupes, refer to "Coupe Seat Back Pad and Seat Cover - SC2" installation procedure in the Seats section of the appropriate model year S-Series Body/Electrical (Volume II) service manual.
