Rear Transaxle Mount and Bracket (Automatic)

REAR TRANSAXLE MOUNT AND BRACKET (AUTOMATIC)

REMOVAL





1. On vehicles equipped with L81 engines, remove rear exhaust manifold pipe heat shield.





2. Remove rear transaxle mount through bolt.
3. Remove one of three transaxle mount to frame bolts.

CAUTION: MAKE SURE VEHICLE IS PROPERLY SUPPORTED AND SQUARELY POSITIONED ON THE HOIST. TO HELP AVOID PERSONAL INJURY WHEN A VEHICLE IS ON A HOIST, PROVIDE ADDITIONAL SUPPORT FOR THE VEHICLE ON THE OPPOSITE END FROM WHICH COMPONENTS ARE BEING REMOVED.

4. Raise vehicle on hoist.





5. Remove remaining mount to frame attachment bolts.
6. Remove rear mount from vehicle.





7. Remove transaxle mount bracket to transaxle bolts.
8. Remove transaxle mount bracket from vehicle.

INSTALLATION

1. Install rear transaxle mount bracket to transaxle and tighten fasteners.
Torque: Rear Transaxle Mount Bracket-to-Transaxle Bolts: 90 Nm (66 ft. lbs.)





2. Install transaxle mount to frame attachment fasteners and tighten.
Torque: Rear Transaxle Mount-to-Frame Bolts: 60 Nm (44 ft. lbs.)
3. Lower vehicle from hoist.





4. Install and tighten transaxle mount to frame attachment fastener.
Torque: Rear Transaxle Mount-to-Frame Bolts: 60 Nm (44 ft. lbs.)

IMPORTANT: On L61 engines, be sure transaxle mount heat shield is in place.

5. Install transaxle mount to engine mount bracket through bolt.
Torque: Rear Transaxle Mount Through Bolt: 90 Nm (66 ft. lbs.)





6. On vehicles equipped with L81 engines, Install rear exhaust manifold pipe heat shield.
Torque: Exhaust Manifold Pipe Heat Shield Bolts (L81): 8 Nm (71 inch lbs.)
