Service Prior to Assembly

- Dirt or debris will cause premature wear of the rebuilt engine. Clean all components.
- Use the proper tools to measure components when checking for excessive wear. Components that are not within the manufacturer's specifications must be replaced or repaired.
- When components are reinstalled into an engine, return the components to their original position, location and direction.
- During assembly, lubricate all moving parts with clean engine oil or engine assembly lubricant (unless otherwise specified). This will provide initial lubrication when the engine is first started.
