Accelerator Pedal, Shaft, and Bracket Assembly -2

REMOVAL




1. Disconnect accelerator control cable from accelerator pedal assembly.
2. Release cruise control rod from accelerator pedal assembly when applicable.
3. Remove single nut from accelerator pedal and remove pedal assembly. Discard the nut, do not reuse.

INSTALLATION

IMPORTANT: The accelerator pedal and lever assembly are serviced as a unit.




1. Install accelerator pedal assembly to the steering column support bracket using a new, prevailing torque nut.

Torque:
Accelerator Pedal Assembly-to-Support Bracket Nut: 8 N.m (70 in-lbs)

2. Attach accelerator control cable to the accelerator pedal.
3. Attach cruise control rod to accelerator pedal assembly when applicable. The cruise control rod will require adjustment. Refer to "Cruise Control Rod Adjustment Visual Method."
4. Check accelerator control assembly for binding.
