B2587

B2587 - Parklamp Control Circuit Low

Schematic:

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The body control module (BCM) activates the parklamp relay when the light senses a dark condition. Battery voltage is supplied to the parklamp relay through the fuse circuit located in the IPB. The BCM provides ground to circuit 1080 to activate the parklamp relay for two conditions if the headlamp switch is moved to the parklamp position and if in the ALC mode. If the parklamp relay control circuit 1080 is shorted to ground or open DTC B2587 will fail as current.

DTC PARAMETERS
- Parklamp relay commanded Off.
- Parklamp switch is Off.
- Short to ground or open.
- Ignition in RUN.
- Condition is present for 5 seconds.
- No telltale illumination.

DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
- Check for poor connection at the BCM. Inspect harness connectors for backed-out terminals, improper terminal mating, broken connector locks, improperly formed or damaged terminals and poor terminal-to-wire connection (terminal crimped over wire insulation and not conductors).
- Inspect wiring harness for damage. Check for broken or chaffed insulation.
- If fault is suspected to be intermittent, wiggling harness wiring may help in locating fault.
