Liftgate Lock Cylinder Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the lift gate pull handle plugs.
2. Remove the fasteners and the lift gate pull handle.
3. Remove the lift gate trim panel retainers.
4. Remove the trim panel.




5. Disconnect the electrical connector from the lock assembly.
6. Remove the lift gate lock assembly retaining nuts.
7. Disconnect the latch cable from the lock cylinder assembly.
8. Remove the cylinder assembly.

Installation Procedure




1. Reconnect the latch cable to the latch assembly.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Position the cylinder assembly in the lift gate and install the lock cylinder assembly retaining nuts.

Tighten the lift gate lock cylinder-to-lift gate nuts to 3 Nm (27 lb in).

3. Reconnect the electrical connector.
4. Position the lift gate trim panel to the lift gate.
5. Secure to the structure by pushing at the retainer locations.
6. Install the trim panel retainers.
7. Install the lift gate pull handle using the fasteners.

Tighten the lift gate pull handle fasteners to 5 Nm (44 lb in).

8. Install the lift gate pull handle plugs.
