Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

NOTE: The throttle position (TP) sensor is an electrical component, and must NOT be soaked in any liquid solvent or damage may occur.




1. Ignition Off.
2. Disconnect TP sensor harness connector.
3. Remove TP sensor attachment screws and remove TP sensor.

INSTALLATION




1. Clean O-ring sealing surface and throttle shaft. Make sure O-ring is seated in TP sensor.
2. With throttle plate closed install TP sensor over throttle shaft.
3. Apply Loctite 242(R) Threadlocker to threads of TP sensor attachment screws and install screws.

Torque:
Throttle Position Sensor Screws: 2 N.m (18 in-lbs)

4. Connect TP sensor harness connector. Push in connector until a click is heard and pull back to confirm a positive engagement.
