Positive Crankcase Ventilation: Service and Repair

POSITIVE CRANKCASE VENTILATION (PCV) VALVE

The PCV valve is located in a snug fitting grommet on the engine cam cover. It is connected by a hose to the intake manifold.

Removal




1. Disconnect PCV valve from cam cover.
2. Disconnect valve from hose to intake manifold.

NOTE: Inspect vacuum hose and cam cover grommet for deterioration and damage. There must be no air leakage between PCV valve and connecting hoses. Always replace with the correct part number valve.

Installation




1. Install PCV valve to cam cover grommet and hose to intake manifold fitting.
