Oil Cooler Line Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Place a drain pan or suitable container under the vehicle.
2. Clean the cooler line connection points at the radiator and transmission.





3. Disconnect the transmission cooler lines from the radiator.
4. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
5. Remove the transmission cooler line assembly nut from the transmission.





6. Remove the transmission cooler lines from the vehicle.
7. Replace the transaxle oil cooler pipe seals.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the cooler line assembly to the transmission.

2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Install the cooler line retaining nut at the transmission.
Tighten the lines to 7 Nm (62 inch lbs.).





3. Connect the transmission cooler lines to the radiator.
Tighten the nut to 16 Nm (12 ft. lbs.).

4. Important: Do not use ATF P/N 21005966 or P/N 21019223, these fluids are not compatible with this transmission. Use Saturn P/N 22688912.

Add fluid to the transmission as necessary.
5. Start the engine a check for leaks.
