Transmission Mount Replacement - Side
Removal Procedure
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
3. Remove the cradle.
4. Lower the vehicle.
5. Remove the air cleaner assembly.





6. Disconnect the engine control module harness connector (3,4).
7. Remove the under hood electrical center cover.
8. Disconnect the positive battery cables (1) from the under hood electrical center.





9. Disconnect the surge tank inlet hose from the surge tank.





10. Remove the under hood electrical center tray bracket nuts (1,2) and bolt (3).
11. Disconnect the wiring harness retainer from the tray bracket.





12. Lift the electrical center up and swing it back and out of the way.
13. Install the engine support fixture.
14. Remove the engine mount.
15. Disconnect the upper transmission cooler line from the radiator.





16. Remove the transmission mount to transmission bolts.





17. Important: Make sure the A/C compressor clutch does not contact the inner metal rail of the vehicle.

Slowly lower and tilt the entire powertrain assembly down approximately 4 inches.
18. Remove the transmission mount to mid-rail bolts.
19. Remove the transmission mount from the mid-rail.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the transmission mount to the mid-rail.

2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Hand start the transmission mount to mid-rail bolts.
Tighten the bolts to 34 Nm (25 ft. lbs.).
3. Raise the entire powertrain assembly back into place.
4. Install the engine mount.





Important: The transmission mount to transmission bolts must be hand started, Do not pry the transmission or mount to align the holes.

5. Hand start the transmission mount to transmission bolts using the following sequence:
1. Rear bolt
2. Middle bolt
3. Front bolt

6. Using the previous sequence, tighten the transmission mount bolts.
Tighten the bolts to 45 Nm (33 ft. lbs.).
7. Remove the engine support fixture.
8. Connect the automatic transmission cooler line to the radiator.
9. Reposition the under hood electrical center.
10. Connect the wiring harness retainer to the tray bracket.





11. Install the electrical center nuts (1,2) and bolt (3).
^ Tighten the nuts to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
^ Tighten the bolt to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).





12. Connect the surge tank inlet hose to the surge tank.





13. Install the positive battery cables (1) to the under hood electrical center.
Tighten the positive cable nut to 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.).
14. Connect the engine control module harness connectors (3,4).
15. Install the under hood electrical center cover.
16. Install the air cleaner assembly.
17. Raise the vehicle.
18. Install the cradle.
19. Lower the vehicle.
20. Connect the negative battery cable.
