Sunroof Sunshade Assembly

REMOVAL




1. Operate sunroof to the 1/4 open position.
2. Remove four screws from "U" cover.
3. Close sunroof and put in vent position.
4. Remove "U" cover by un-snapping sides and lower cover down into passenger compartment.




5. Remove four bolts from encapsulated glass.




6. Remove water channel screws (two).




7. Slide sunshade forward.
8. Remove sunshade from above car by depressing sunshade guide clips.




9. If sunshade guide Clips are to be replaced, remove sunshade guide clips by using a small screwdriver to bend retaining tangs up.

INSTALLATION




1. If sunshade guide clips were replaced, install sunshade guide clips by pressing clips onto sunshade where old clips were located.




2. Install sunshade from above car by installing two sunshade guide clips.




3. Slightly tilting one side of sunshade more forward than the other side, install remaining two guide clips by depressing guide clip and pushing into channel. (This will help to engage clips in channel.)




4. Install water channel screws. Tighten drivers side screw first and passenger side screw in slot second.

Torque:
Water Channel Screws: 3 N.m (27 in-lbs)





5. Install encapsulated glass with four bolts. Do not tighten at this point.




6. Align encapsulated glass to roof in four locations as indicated by arrows, 0-1 mm (0-3/64 in.) lower than roof in the front and 0-1 mm (0-3/64 in.) higher than roof in the rear.
7. Tighten encapsulated glass bolts.

Torque:
Encapsulated Glass-to-Sunroof Module Fasteners: 4 N.m (35 in-lbs)





8. Install "U" cover by snapping the sides to the sunroof assembly.
9. Operate sunroof to the 1/4 open position.
10. Install fours screws to "U" cover.

Torque:
Sunroof Module "U" Cover Retaining Screws: 4 N.m (35 in-lbs)





11. Verify smooth operation.
12. Verify alignment to roof.




13. Adjust by loosening bolts, repositioning glass and re-tightening in new position.
