Liftgate Lock Cylinder Coding

DISASSEMBLY




1. Remove retainer clip at rear of lock cylinder and remove pawl.




2. Remove cap from lock cylinder by using a thin blade screwdriver to pry cap from case.

IMPORTANT: When shutter is removed, the shutter springs may fall out.

3. Remove shutter and shutter springs.




4. Insert key and rotate a quarter-turn. Slide cylinder from housing




5. Push tumblers out of lock cylinder using a thin blade screwdriver.

ASSEMBLY




1. Select the correct tumblers for the desired code by the number stamped or the tumbler.

IMPORTANT: Make sure tumbler springs are in place before installing tumblers.




2. Install tumblers into lock cylinder.
3. Depress tumblers and insert key into lock cylinder. If lock cylinder is coded correctly, tumblers will be flush with lock cylinders.
4. Insert lock cylinder into housing and align tumblers with the two channels inside housing. Remove key.
5. Install shutter springs, shutter, and cap.
6. Install pawl and retainer clip.
