Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
The fuel tank pressure sensor is located on top of fuel pump module cover.




1. Remove fuel tank from vehicle.

NOTE: Fuel pump pressure sensor has a tight ribbed rubber seal. Care must be taken when removing from secondary fuel pump module.

2. Gently pry under fuel pump pressure sensor from two separate sides in order to equally pull sensor from module.
3. Remove fuel tank pressure sensor from secondary fuel pump module.

INSTALLATION

IMPORTANT: To facilitate installation of the tank pressure sensor into its mounting boss on the fuel pump module cover, lightly lubricate the multi-ribbed seal on the tank pressure sensor. A drop of clean engine oil is sufficient.

1. Install fuel tank pressure sensor from secondary fuel pump module.
2. Gently push fuel pump pressure sensor into secondary fuel pump module, ribbed rubber seal must seat into boss of secondary fuel pump module for sensor to seal correctly.
3. Install fuel tank from vehicle.
