Park Lock Cable Assembly

PARK LOCK CABLE ASSEMBLY

REMOVAL
1. Disable the SIR System.
2. Remove console.
3. Remove lock cylinder bezel from steering column shroud by carefully prying with thin bladed screwdriver.





4. Remove shroud fasteners and remove steering column upper and lower shroud panels.
5. Make sure key is in OFF position.





6. Squeeze tabs on park lock cable clip and pull upward to disengage from control assembly.
7. Disconnect end terminal of park lock cable assembly from control assembly by pulling cable fitting rearward.





8. Disengage retaining tabs and remove park lock cable assembly from ignition module.
9. Remove park lock cable from control assembly.
10. Remove park lock cable assembly from vehicle and note routing.

INSTALLATION
1. Snap park lock cable assembly onto ignition module.





2. Install park lock cable onto control assembly.





3. Install park lock cable end terminal onto control assembly by aligning cable fitting to pin and pushing forward. When installing, be sure not to install cable end fitting on an angle or push down on cable portion as this may cause cable to misadjust.





4. Verify control assembly is in P (Park) position. Lock adjuster piece into place by pushing in on tab.





5. Install shroud fasteners and install steering column upper and lower shroud panels.
6. Install lock cylinder bezel onto steering column shroud.
7. Perform operation inspection.
8. Install console.
9. Enable SIR system.
