Fluid Line/Hose: Service and Repair

TRANSAXLE OIL COOLER LINE ASSEMBLY

REMOVAL

CAUTION: MAKE SURE VEHICLE IS PROPERLY SUPPORTED AND SQUARELY POSITIONED ON THE HOIST. TO HELP AVOID PERSONAL INJURY WHEN A VEHICLE IS ON A HOIST, PROVIDE ADDITIONAL SUPPORT FOR THE VEHICLE ON THE OPPOSITE END FROM WHICH COMPONENTS ARE BEING REMOVED.

1. Place drain pan or suitable container under vehicle.
2. Position vehicle on a hoist.





3. Remove transaxle oil cooler lines from radiator.
4. Raise vehicle.





5. Remove transaxle cooler line assembly nut from transaxle.
6. Remove transaxle oil cooler lines from vehicle.

INSTALLATION
1. Install transaxle oil cooler line assembly to transaxle.
2. Install transaxle oil cooler line assembly nut.
Torque: Transaxle Oil Cooler Line Assembly Nut: 8 N.m (6 ft. lbs.)
3. Lower vehicle.
4. Install transaxle oil cooler lines to radiator.
Torque: Transaxle Cooler Line Fittings: 16 N.m (12 ft. lbs.)

NOTICE: Saturn automatic transaxle fluid (ATF) (P/N 21005966 and P/N 21019223) is not compatible with this transaxle. If Saturn ATF is used, transaxle damage will result. This transaxle uses Saturn Transaxle fluid (P/N 2688912).

5. Add fluid to transaxle.
6. Start engine and check for leaks.
