Control Valve Body Cover Replacement

CONTROL VALVE BODY COVER

REMOVAL





CAUTION: DO NOT TIP BATTERY OVER 45° ANGLE OR ACID COULD SPILL.

IMPORTANT: Record all pre-set radio stations.

1. Remove battery.
1. 1 Remove battery cover.
1.2. Disconnect negative battery cable.
1.3. Disconnect positive battery cable.
2. Remove battery cooling box.





3. Remove battery tray bracket.
3.1. Loosen battery tray bracket screws and remove bracket.





4. Remove transaxle vent cap.





5. Disconnect transaxle electrical connector.
6. Remove bolts from the control valve body cover.
7. Remove control valve body cover.
8. Remove control valve body cover gasket and discard.

INSTALLATION





1. Install a new control valve body cover gasket on the transaxle case assembly.
2. Inspect control valve body cover for damage.
3. Install transaxle vent cap.
4. Install control valve body cover and bolts on transaxle case assembly.





5. Connect transaxle electrical connector.





6. Tighten bolts in sequence shown.
Torque: Valve Body Cover Bolts: 11 N.m (8 ft. lbs.)





7. Install battery tray bracket.
7.1. Position battery tray bracket and tighten screws.
Torque: Battery Tray Bracket Screws: 16 N.m (12 ft. lbs.)
8. Install battery cooling box.





9. Install battery.
9.1. Insert battery and tighten battery hold-down screw.
Torque: Battery Hold-Down Screw: 15 N.m (11 ft. lbs.)
9.2. Connect positive battery cable to battery.
Torque: Battery Terminal Bolts: 17 N.m (13 ft. lbs.)
9.3. Connect negative battery cable to battery.
Torque: Battery Terminal Bolts: 17 N.m (13 ft. lbs.)
9.4. Install battery cooling box cover and tighten screws.
Torque: Battery Cooling Box Cover Screws: 2 N.m (18 inch lbs.)
9.5. Reprogram radio stations.
