HVAC Controller

REMOVAL




1. Move shifter to neutral position.
2. Pull up at rear edge of horseshoe bezel first disengaging retention clips, up over shifter assembly then down and back at front to gain access to underside switch connections.




3. Disconnect window switches, mirror switch and cigar lighter and remove horseshoe bezel.




4. Remove lower I/P front console storage compartment to I/P retainer screws and upper storage compartment to radio bezel screws and I/P front console storage compartment.




5. Pull lower edge to radio bezel rearward disengaging lower clips then upper portion rearward disengaging upper clips.




6. Disconnect HVAC controller:
^ Temperature cable
^ Blower switch
^ 20-way connector





7. Disconnect:
^ Airbag telltale
^ Foglamp switch/TCS
^ Dimmer switch
^ Hazard switch




8. Remove HVAC controller to radio bezel screws and HVAC controller.

INSTALLATION




1. Install HVAC controller to radio bezel with screws.

Torque:
HVAC Controller to Radio Bezel: 2.5 N.m (22 in. lbs.)




2. Center temperature cable knob by inserting assembly alignment tab into centering slot of temperature knob shaft.




3. Center HVAC module temperature door by aligning cable lug of temperature control cable with center point of detent spring (detent spring force should hold temperature door in desired position for assembly).




4. Install temperature cable to HVAC controller by aligning retention tabs and temperature knob shaft and snapping into place.
5. Connect I/P harness to blower switch and HVAC controller.
6. Connect I/P harness to HVAC controller.




7. Connect I/P harness to:
^ Airbag telltale
^ Foglamp switch/TCS
^ Dimmer Switch
^ Hazard switch




8. Install radio bezel by inserting upper front edge clips first, sliding bezel forward while holding down on front edge of bezel to engage upper retention clips then pressing forward at lower clip location engaging lower clips.




9. Install I/P front console storage compartment and screws.

Torque:
Storage Compartment Screws: 2.5 N.m (22 in. lbs.)




10. Connect wire harness to:
^ Window switches
^ Mirror switch
^ Cigar lighter

11. Move shifter to neutral position.




12. Install front edge of horseshoe bezel first over shift assembly making sure to engage alignment pins and snapping into place by pressing down.
13. Put shifter in Park position.

NOTE: Any time a HVAC module mode actuator or HVAC controller is replaced, the HVAC controller will need to be calibrated to ensure proper air distribution.

14. Calibrate mode door by simultaneously pushing the A/C and RECIRC buttons on the HVAC controller 3 times each within 2 seconds of initial push.
^ A/C and RECIRC button LED's will flash while this calibration is taking place.
^ Calibration will take anywhere between 10 to 30 seconds depending on battery voltage.
^ LEDs will quit flashing when completed.
15. Cycle ignition and verify proper operation.
