Battery Cable: Service and Repair

EPS CABLE

REMOVAL

IMPORTANT: Record all pre-set radio stations.

1. Ignition OFF.
2. Remove battery cooling box screws and remove battery cover.
3. Disconnect negative battery cable.
4. Disconnect positive battery cable





5. Remove EPS Cable from the underhood fuse block.
6. Remove TCM and the TCM Bracket.
7. Remove cable clips from hose.





8. Feed grommet and cable through front-of-dash pass-through.
(1) Cable clip attachments
(2) EPS grommet





9. Remove Conduit clip from front-of-dash.
(1) EPS pass-through on the front-of-dash
(2) EPS grommet
(3) Conduit clip
10. Remove conduit clip from steering column bracket.
11. Remove ground ring terminal from steering column bracket.





12. Remove connector from EPS module.
(1) Conduit clip and placement on steering column
(2) EPS ground ring terminal
(3) EPS connector

INSTALLATION
1. Connect connector to EPS module.
2. Attach ground ring terminal to steering column bracket.





3. Attach conduit clip to steering column bracket
(1) Conduit clip and placement on steering column
(2) EPS ground ring terminal
(3) EPS connector
4. Attach conduit clip be front-of-dash.





5. Feed cable through front-of-dash pass-through.
(1) EPS pass-through on the front-of-dash
(2) EPS grommet
(3) Conduit clip
6. Make sure grommet is seated.





7. Route cable along hose and attach clips.
(1) Cable clip attachments
(2) EPS grommet





8. Attach EPS cable to fuse block.
(1) EPS Cable
(2) Nut
9. Install TCM bracket.
10. Install TCM.
11. Connect positive battery cable to battery.
Torque:
Battery Terminal Bolts: 17 Nm (13 ft. lbs.)
12. Connect negative battery cable to battery.
Torque:
Battery Terminal bolts: 17 Nm (13 ft. lbs.)
13. Install battery cooling box cover and tighten screws.
Torque:
Battery Cooling Box Cover Screws: 2 Nm (18 inch lbs.)
14. Reprogram radio stations.
