Fluid Line/Hose: Service and Repair

TRANSAXLE OIL COOLER LINE ASSEMBLY

REMOVAL

CAUTION: MAKE SURE VEHICLE IS PROPERLY SUPPORTED AND SQUARELY POSITIONED ON THE HOIST. TO HELP AVOID PERSONAL INJURY WHEN A VEHICLE IS ON A HOIST, PROVIDE ADDITIONAL SUPPORT FOR THE VEHICLE ON THE OPPOSITE END FROM WHICH COMPONENTS ARE BEING REMOVED.

1. Place drain pan or suitable container under vehicle.
2. Position vehicle on a hoist.





3. Remove transaxle oil cooler lines from radiator.
4. Raise vehicle.





5. Remove transaxle cooler line assembly nut from transaxle.
(VT25-E shown, AF33-5 similar.)
6. Remove transaxle oil cooler lines from vehicle.

INSTALLATION
1. Install transaxle oil cooler line assembly to transaxle.
(VT25-E shown, AF33-5 similar.)
2. Install transaxle oil cooler line assembly nut.
Torque: Transaxle Oil Cooler Line Assembly Nut: 8 N.m (71 inch lbs.)
3. Lower vehicle.
4. Install transaxle oil cooler lines to radiator.
Torque: Transaxle Cooler Line Fittings: 16 N.m (12 ft. lbs.)

NOTICE: Saturn Automatic Transaxle Fluid (ATF) (P/N 21005966 and P/N 21019223) is not compatible with this transaxle. If Saturn ATF is used, transaxle damage will result. This transaxle uses Saturn transaxle fluid (P/N 22689186).

5. Add fluid to transaxle.
6. Start engine and check for leaks.
