15. 1 - 2 Reverse Clutch Disassemble

1 - 2 REVERSE CLUTCH DISASSEMBLE

^ TOOLS REQUIRED
- J 23456 Clutch Pack Compressor
- J 28585 Snap Ring Remover
- J 45184 Differential Bearing Race Installer





1. Remove 1-2 reverse clutch plate snap ring (622).
2. Remove the following components:
^ 1-2 reverse clutch backing plate (621)
^ Fiber plates (620)
^ Steel plates (619)
^ 1-2 reverse clutch apply plate (618)





IMPORTANT: Be careful not to bend return spring assembly.

3. Place Differential Bearing Race Installer J45184 on center of booster and Clutch Pack Compressor J23456.
4. Place case cover with 1-2 reverse clutch piston assembly onto Differential Bearing Race Installer J45184.
5. Using J23327-1, which is the bridge part of J23327
to compress piston spring.
6. Remove 1-2 reverse clutch piston spring retaining ring using Snap Ring Remover J28585.
7. Remove pressure from Clutch Pack Compressor J23456, remove J23327 and 1-2 reverse clutch piston return spring (601).
8. Remove all tools.





CAUTION: WEAR SAFETY GLASSES WHEN USING COMPRESSED AIR IN ORDER TO PREVENT EYE INJURY.

9. While pulling upward on the piston by hand, apply compressed air into the 1-2 reverse clutch oil passage and remove 1-2 reverse clutch piston.
10. Remove 1-2 reverse clutch piston inner seal (602).
11. Remove 1-2 reverse clutch piston outer seal (604).
