Electrical Function Check
ELECTRICAL FUNCTION CHECKPerform this check first, in order to ensure the electronic transaxle components are connected and functioning properly. If these components are not checked, a simple electrical condition could be misdiagnosed.
1. Shift the transaxle into Park and set the parking brake.
2. Start the engine.
3. Verify the following Scan tool data is functioning properly:
^ Trans. Protection Mode
^ Last Shift Status
^ APP Angle
^ Engine Torque
^ Engine Speed
^ Transmission ISS
^ Transmission OSS
^ Vehicle Speed
^ Gear Ratio
^ TR Sw.
^ TR Sw. A/B/C/P
^ Solenoid CKT Status
^ Trans. Fluid Temp.
^ Ignition Voltage
^ Trans. Oil Life
^ Brake Switch
^ ECT
4. Monitor the brake switch signal while depressing and releasing the brake pedal. The scan tool should display:
^ Applied - when the brake pedal is depressed.
^ Released - when the brake pedal is released.
5. Monitor APP Angle while increasing and decreasing engine speed with the accelerator pedal. The Scan tool APP Angle should increase and decrease with the accelerator pedal position.
If any of the above checks do not perform properly, record the result for reference after completion of the road test.
