Rear Drive Module (RDM) - Installation

REAR DRIVE MODULE (RDM) - INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION





1. Position rear drive module in vehicle.
2. Install left and right rear drive module mount bolts and new nuts to the support, then hand tighten.
3. Position rear bracket to support mount. Install bolt and new nuts and tighten bolts.
Torque:
Bracket-to-Rear Drive Module Bolts: 105 Nm (77 ft. lbs.)
4. Tighten front rear drive module mount to support bolts.
Torque:
Front Rear Drive Module Mount-to-Support Bolts: 105 Nm (77 ft. lbs.)
5. Install vent hose to rear drive module.





6. Install propshaft to vehicle. Engage front CV joint into PTU.





7. Install propshaft center bearing bolts and hand tighten.

IMPORTANT: Align index mark from removal procedure.

IMPORTANT: Apply Permatex threadlocker - blue.

8. Align rear propshaft flange to rear drive module and tighten bolts.
Torque:
Propshaft Rear Flange to Rear Drive Module Bolts: 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.)





9. Position exhaust muffler and resonator to vehicle. Install rubber bushings.

NOTICE: Install new gasket.





10. Install intermediate pipe to downpipe. Install nuts and tighten.
Torque:
Intermediate Pipe to Downpipe Nuts: 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.)
11. Install rear drive axles.





12. Install wheel and tires. Tighten nuts in a crisscross pattern
Torque:
Wheel Nuts: 125 Nm (92 ft. lbs.)
13. Lower vehicle.
14. Check rear alignment. Align as necessary.
