Rear Mounting Bushing (On-Vehicle)
REAR MOUNTING BUSHING (ON-VEHICLE)^ TOOLS REQUIRED
- J45221 Bushing Removal Tool
REMOVAL
CAUTION: MAKE SURE VEHICLE IS PROPERLY SUPPORTED AND SQUARELY POSITIONED ON THE HOIST. TO HELP AVOID PERSONAL INJURY WHEN A VEHICLE IS ON THE HOIST, PROVIDE ADDITIONAL SUPPORT FOR THE VEHICLE OPPOSITE FROM WHICH COMPONENTS ARE BEING REMOVED.
1. Raise vehicle.
2. Disconnect intermediate exhaust pipe from downpipe.
3. Remove exhaust muffler and resonator.
NOTICE: Hold stud secure with "Torx" bit while removing nut. Damage may occur if stud rotates.
4. Remove stabilizer link to stabilizer bar nut.
5. Remove stabilizer bar to support attachment bolts.
6. Remove bar from links and remove bar.
IMPORTANT: Discard used nut.
7. Remove rear drive bracket to rear bushing fasteners.
IMPORTANT: Discard used nut.
8. Remove bracket to rear drive module fasteners.
9. Remove bracket.
10. Install Bushing Removal Tool J45221 and remove bushing.
11. Position large part of tool over bushing flange and against frame. Install bolt and washer.
12. Install small part of stool against bushing. Install bearing washer and nut.
13. Tighten tool nut until bushing is removed.
INSTALLATION
IMPORTANT: Align the slots in the bushing at 6 o'clock and 12 o'clock.
1. Position new rear bushing to support. Use bushing removal tool J45221 to fully seat bushing.
2. Place large part of tool against frame. Install bolt and washer.
3. Place small part of tool against bushing flange area.
4. Install bearing washer and nut.
5. Tighten tool nut until bushing is fully seated.
6. Position bracket to rear drive module, install bolts and new nuts, then tighten bolts.
Torque:
Bracket-to-Rear Drive Module Bolts: 105 Nm (77 ft. lbs.)
7. Install bracket to rear mount bushing bolt and new nut, then tighten bolt.
Torque:
Bracket-to-Rear Mount Bushing Bolt: 105 Nm (77 ft. lbs.)
8. Position stabilizer bar to vehicle, install links to stabilizer bar.
IMPORTANT: Ensure rubber mounts are in proper position. Flat side against support.
9. Install stabilizer mounting bolts and tighten.
Torque:
Stabilizer Bar Mounting Bolts: 70 Nm (52 ft. lbs.)
NOTICE: Hold stud secure with "Torx" bit while tightening nut. Damage may occur if stud rotates.
10. Install stabilizer link nut and tighten.
Torque:
Stabilizer Link Nut: 63 Nm (47 ft. lbs.)
11. Install exhaust muffler and resonator.
12. Connect intermediate pipe to downpipe. Install new gasket and tighten nuts.
Torque:
Exhaust Pipe Nuts: 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.)
13. Lower vehicle.
