Procedures

WASHER SOLVENT CONTAINER AND PUMP

REMOVAL

CAUTION: ALLOW COOLANT SURGE TANK SUFFICIENT COOLING TIME BEFORE HANDLING.




1. Remove coolant surge tank fasteners.
2. Disconnect surge tank level sensor and set surge tank aside in engine compartment. Make sure that coolant hoses do not get disconnected.
3. Remove front washer solvent container fastener.




4. Disconnect front washer solvent container hose from front nozzle hose that runs along upper motor compartment rail.
5. Angle washer solver container to the rear of the vehicle and pull out of mounting hole.
6. Disconnect washer pump electrical connector.




7. Pull washer solvent pump from solvent container making sure to contain spilling solvent.
8. Disconnect front and rear washer solvent container hoses from washer pump.

INSTALLATION

NOTE: Do not reuse washer solvent as debris may clog the system.

1. Connect front and rear washer solvent container hoses to washer pump.
2. Install washer pump into washer solvent container. Be sure to reinstall washer pump filter, if removed.




3. Connect electrical connector.
4. Insert front and rear washer solvent container hoses into grooves in solvent container.

IMPORTANT: Washer solvent container grommet must be installed between container and body structure to prevent squeaks and rattles.

5. Install washer solvent container into motor compartment. Be sure that the washer solvent container's mounting peg (with grommet installed) is seated into the mounting hole in body structure. A lubricant may be used to ease installation.
6. Connect front washer solvent container hose to front nozzle hose that runs along upper motor compartment rail.




7. Install front washer solvent container fastener.

Torque:
Front Washer Solvent Container Fastener: 2.5 N.m (22 in-lbs)

8. Install coolant surge tank with fasteners.

Torque:
Coolant Surge Tank Fasteners: 6 N.m (53 in-lbs)
