Cooling System Air Bleeder Pipe / Hose: Service and Repair

Coolant Air Bleed Hose Replacement (L81)

Removal Procedure





1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Drain the coolant.
3. Remove the coolant air bleed hose clamp from the surge tank.
4. Remove the hose from the surge tank.





5. Remove the hose from the Underhood Fuse Block (UHFB) clamps.





6. Remove the hose from the harness clamp.
7. Remove the wiring harness from the clamp.
8. Remove the bolt which secures the wiring harness bracket to the intake manifold.
9. Disconnect the fuel injector inline connector.
10. Remove the clamp which secures the coolant air bleed hose to the coolant air bleed pipe.
11. Remove the hose.

Installation Procedure





1. Install and position the coolant air bleed hose to the cylinder head pipe.





2. Install and position the hose to the surge tank fitting. Install the clamp which secures the hose to the surge tank at the 1 o'clock position.
3. Install the hose to the cylinder head pipe.
4. Install the clamp which secures the hose to the cylinder head pipe to the 2 o'clock position.





5. Install the clamps which secure the hose into the Underhood Fuse Block (UHFB).
6. Connect the fuel injector inline connector.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

7. Install the bolt which secures the wiring harness bracket to the intake manifold.
^ Tighten the bolt to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
8. Install the wiring harness into the harness clamp.
9. Install the coolant air bleed hose into the clamp.
10. Connect the negative battery cable.
11. Fill the cooling system.
