Oil Cooler Line ReplacementRemoval Procedure
1. Remove the intake manifold and spacer.
2. Remove the coolant intake hose.
3. Remove the heater hose.
4. Remove the coolant bridge bolts.
5. Remove the coolant bridge upper seals.
6. Remove the coolant bridge.
7. Remove the coolant bridge lower seals.
8. Remove the oil feed line from the engine oil cooler.
9. Remove the return line from the engine oil cooler.
10. Take note of the 4 seals.
11. Remove the engine oil cooler line clamp.
Caution: Ensure that the vehicle is properly supported and squarely positioned. To help avoid personal injury when a vehicle is on a hoist, provide additional support for the vehicle on the opposite end from which the components are being removed.
12. Raise and support the vehicle.
13. Remove the crank sensor bolt.
14. Remove the crank sensor.
15. Remove the oil filter cap and the filter element.
16. Remove the oil filter housing.
17. Remove the oil feed line from the engine block.
18. Remove the return line from the engine block.
19. Lower the vehicle.
20. Remove the oil feed line.
21. Remove the return line.
22. Remove the oil feed line from the engine oil cooler.
23. Remove the return line from the engine oil cooler.
Installation Procedure
1. Lower the vehicle.
2. Install the oil feed and install the return lines to the engine oil cooler. Use 4 new seals.
^ Tighten the oiler cooler feed and return lines to engine block to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the engine oil cooler line clamp.
Caution: Ensure that the vehicle is properly supported and squarely positioned. To help avoid personal injury when a vehicle is on a hoist, provide additional support for the vehicle on the opposite end from which the components are being removed.
4. Raise and support the vehicle.
5. Install the oil feed line to the engine block.
^ Tighten the oil cooler feed and return lines to engine block to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
6. Install the return line to the engine block.
^ Tighten the oil cooler feed and return lines to engine block to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
7. Install the O-ring onto the oil filter housing.
8. Install the oil filter housing onto the engine block and tighten.
^ Tighten the oil filter cartridge housing-to-engine to 45 Nm (33 ft. lbs.).
9. Install the oil filter element, the O-ring, and the oil filter cap onto the housing.
^ Tighten the oil filter cap to 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.).
10. Install the crank sensor.
11. Install the crank sensor bolt.
^ Tighten the crankshaft position sensor bolt to 8 Nm (71 inch lbs.).
12. Install the coolant bridge and install the coolant bridge lower seals.
13. Install the coolant bridge upper seals and the coolant bridge bolts.
^ Tighten the coolant bridge bolts to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
14. Install the coolant intake housing and install the coolant intake housing O-ring seal.
15. Install the coolant intake housing bolts.
^ Tighten the coolant intake housing bolts to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
16. Install the intake manifold and spacer.
17. Check and fill the engine oil as necessary.
