Seat Belt Guide Replacement - Front

SEAT BELT GUIDE REPLACEMENT - FRONT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the carpet retainer molding.




2. Using a trim tool, remove the outside center pillar weatherstrip.




3. Remove the shoulder belt height adjuster fasteners.




4. Remove the access plug to the shoulder belt retractor fastener.
5. Remove the shoulder belt retractor fastener.




6. Remove the B-pillar molding plug and fastener.
7. Starting at the top, gently pull on the center pillar upper molding to disengage the attaching clips.
8. Pull on the center pillar lower molding to disengage the attaching clips.




9. Remove shoulder belt from the shoulder belt retainer.




10. Remove the safety belt guide fastener and remove the guide.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.




1. Install the safety belt guide and fastener.

Tighten the fastener to 1.5 N.m (13 lb in).




2. Position the shoulder belt behind the shoulder belt retainer.




3. Attach the center pillar molding assemblies to the vehicle by firmly by pushing at the clip locations.
4. Install the center pillar molding fastener and plug.

Tighten the fastener to 10 N.m (89 lb in).




5. Install the retractor fastener.

Tighten the fastener to 35 N.m (26 lb ft).

6. Install the retractor plug.




7. Install the height adjuster fasteners.

Tighten the fasteners to 35 N.m (26 lb ft).




8. Install the center pillar outside weatherstrip.
9. Install the carpet retainer.




10. Using a flat-bladed tool, install the weatherstrip over the center pillar lower molding and the rocker panel molding
11. Test the shoulder belt to ensure the proper operation.
