Transmission Mount Replacement - Rear

Removal Procedure





1. On vehicles equipped with L81 engines, remove the rear exhaust manifold pipe heat shield.





2. Remove the rear transaxle mount through bolt.
3. Remove one of three transaxle mount to frame bolts.
4. Raise the vehicle on a hoist.





5. Remove the remaining mount to frame attachment bolts.
6. Remove the rear mount from the vehicle.





7. Remove the transaxle mount bracket to the transaxle bolts.
8. Remove the transaxle mount bracket from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure






Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

1. Install the rear transaxle mount bracket to the transaxle and tighten the fasteners.

Tighten the rear transaxle mount bracket-to-transaxle bolts to 90 Nm (66 ft. lbs.).





2. Install the transaxle mount to the frame attachment fasteners and tighten.
Tighten the rear transaxle mount-to-frame to 60 Nm (44 ft. lbs.).
3. Lower the vehicle from the hoist.





4. Install and tighten the transaxle mount to the frame attachment fastener.
Tighten the rear transaxle mount-to-frame bolts to 60 Nm (44 ft. lbs.).

Important: On L61 engines, be sure the transaxle mount heat shield is in place.

5. Install the transaxle mount to the engine mount bracket through bolt.
Tighten the rear transaxle mount through bolt to 90 Nm (66 ft. lbs.).





6. On vehicles equipped with L81 engines, install the rear exhaust manifold pipe heat shield.
Tighten the exhaust manifold pipe heat shield bolts (L81) to 8 Nm (71 inch lbs.).
